About the Hall

St Aidan's Hall Berwick upon TweedWelcome to St Aidan's Hall, Berwick upon Tweed (Est 1995)

In the early 1990s an application was submitted to Berwick Borough Council to change the hall into housing. The regular users objected to the planning application and Berwick Borough Council gave the users time to see if they could aquire the funds to purchase the building. This was achieved by an anonymous donation. In 1995 a charitable trust, St Aidan's Hall (Berwick) Trust, was set up to provide a hall for the use by the local community. A committee was formed and with volunteers started to refurbish the premises.

Over the years a lot of hard work has gone into fundraising and along with contributions from the National Lottery and Berwick Borough Housing improvements to the building have been able to be carried out. The building is constantly being upgraded to make it a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment in which people can meet socially, learn new skills and interact with others. Not only is it used by regular groups but events such as coffee mornings, children's parties, tea dances, quiz and bingo nights are held.

Please check our Events page for up and coming fundraising nights.
